Below is a 10-day post-rhinoplasty recovery process:

Day 1: This is when you may feel pain in the surgical area. You can use the prescribed post-operative pain medication, taking it every 4 hours as directed.

In the first 24 hours, there might be some bleeding and serum leakage at the incision site. This is normal and should typically stop after 24 hours. Use a cotton swab dipped in saline solution to gently clean the wound. Avoid letting blood clots form around the incision.

Day 2: Your body may react with slight swelling and bruising around the surgical area, or there may be bruising. This is normal. You can apply a cold compress (during the first 5 days after surgery) to reduce swelling and bruising. Carefully wrap ice in a cloth and apply it to the area. Ensure that the ice water does not directly contact the wound.

If you experience any unusual problems, please contact us at any time, and we will assist you and address any concerns you may have.

Days 3-5: The first follow-up appointment at the clinic.

During this follow-up, the doctor will ensure that your nose is healing normally and that there are no signs of fluid buildup or infection. After 3 days, the internal nasal packing will be removed. This packing helps to shape the nostrils evenly. If the doctor feels that stability is insufficient, they will replace it with new nasal packing.

After removing the nasal packing, you will need to clean the wound daily using a cotton swab, saline solution, and Povidine (an antiseptic). You should clean it 4 times a day. Roll the cotton swab outward from the stitched area until the scab is completely removed.

1st cleaning: Thoroughly clean with saline solution 2nd cleaning: Clean again with antiseptic (Povidine), wait 15 seconds 3rd cleaning: Clean again with saline solution

Days 5-7: Post-operative check-up: The doctor will recheck to ensure everything is proceeding as planned. The doctor may remove the bandages and inspect the wound.

Removing the bandage from the ear area.

Pain and swelling relief: You may need to continue using pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medications to reduce swelling and pain. Please follow the doctor’s instructions precisely.

Regularly use antibiotics after surgery. The second follow-up appointment is scheduled for 7-8 days post-surgery.

After 8 days, ensure that the outer nasal packing has been completely removed and that the internal nasal packing used to shape the inside of the nose has dried. Prepare for stitch removal day.

Days 8-10: Nose hygiene maintenance: You will need to continue caring for and cleaning the nose area as instructed by the doctor. This includes using saline solution to rinse the nose and avoiding light touches to the nose area.

Sleeping posture to prevent swelling: Especially in the first few days after surgery, you should sleep with your head elevated to help reduce swelling and optimize the results of rhinoplasty.

Avoid intense activities: During this period, you should avoid high-intensity physical activities to allow your nose to rest and recover.

Nutritious diet: You should maintain a diet rich in vitamins and protein to support your body’s recovery.

Follow-up with the doctor: Throughout the recovery process, you will have follow-up appointments with the doctor to ensure good progress and address any issues that may arise.

Days 10-12: Third follow-up + stitch removal.

After the complete stitch removal on this day, you will need to use scar treatment gel to help the wound heal faster.

Continue following the diet for 1 month.

Do not rub the inside of the nostrils vigorously. Do not use fingers or other instruments to touch the inside of the nostrils.

Fourth follow-up after 1 month of surgery.
